Overview
Blue Wave Wireless has new, patent pending, hardware
and a Web-based application suite that could rapidly
change three multi-billion dollar industries. Blue
Wave will deliver its innovative solutions globally
to the Transportation industry and the Payment Industry,
and in time to the Cellular/GPS industry, all of
which are experiencing significant growth and adoption
rates.
Market
With today's record-high fuel costs and number of
vehicles on the road, companies, small and large,
must closely manage their mobile fleet operations
and look for ways to make these fleets more productive
while also driving down expenses, such as insurance.
Blue Wave's OrcaTrac hardware and Web service
allows our customers to ensure that the closest
driver to a pickup, delivery or service call, is
dispatched and that drivers are at the locations
where they say they are located or that hazardous
materials such as fuel and chemicals remain at all
times on the most effective and safest routes. In
addition, if a vehicle is stolen, the OrcaTrac service
will provide a cost-efficient solution to recover
the vehicle.
Blue Wave's OrcaTrac offering is less expensive,
easier to install and easier to use than any existing
solution on the market today. Blue Wave makes fleet
management solutions available internationally while
affordable for small and medium companies for the
first time in the industry. Fleet management solutions
(vehicle location, tracking and recovery) currently
used by the biggest and best-in-class companies,
are cost prohibitive for smaller companies. In addition,
everyday consumers, such as parents who want to
ensure safety of their teenager-driver children,
do not have access to affordable fleet management
platforms that offer speed alerts and geographical
'fencing'. Blue Wave's hardware and Web-based, multi-lingual,
service platform is fully integrated and currently
being deployed and tested with industry leaders
in 6 target markets (USA, Brazil, Colombia, Peru,
Turkey, and Denmark.) The platform is currently
being used operationally by Shell Oil and Motorola
through our partners in the Nordic region in Europe.
More people and businesses around the world are
using credit cards, debit cards, gift cards and
cash than ever before. Blue Wave has developed the
OrcaPay payment platform to be extremely attractive
to consumers, easier to obtain than a credit card
without the annual interest rates and fees, more
convenient to use than debit cards and safer than
cash. Using the OrcaPay platform, Merchants can
realize substantial savings on processing fees and
access to loyalty and gift card-type programs that
until now have only been cost effective for large
chains like Starbucks Coffee. OrcaPay enables every
mobile subscriber to use mobile payments without
requiring changes to their phones, POS terminals,
or the network. In addition, by avoiding high card
issuers' costs, the system overcomes the major current
barrier to independent market development by enabling
operators to participate in the fee revenue from
transactions. The OrcaPay platform creates stored-value
accounts and loyalty programs using mobile phones
for identification, security and delivery of targeted
ads. The platform also enables wireless connectivity
for traditional dial-up POS terminals, and location-based
timestamps for payment transactions at the point-of-delivery
or point-of-service. Our payment platform is ready
for deployment, and we have partnered with Sonofon
(Denmark's second largest mobile carrier, with over
2 million subscribers) to provide a city-specific
test prior to our expected launch country-wide in
Denmark in April 2008.
Blue Wave's target markets for its suite of vehicle
location, fleet management and payment services
include US and developed European markets as well
as emerging economies. The Blue Wave fleet management
solution opens up the $5 billion Automatic Vehicle
Location (AVL) market and over 100 million worldwide
fleet and mobile service vehicles previously excluded
from AVL/fleet management services due to prohibitive
costs and disruptive and costly equipment installation.
In the payment industry, Blue Wave addresses the
global market for mobile payments, which, according
to Juniper Research, will grow from approximately
$2 billion in 2008 to $22 billion in 2011, with
additional mobile banking transactions of over $550
billion.
By adding substantial applications that require
cellular and GPS services, Blue Wave's offerings
drive growth in use of these services. Blue Wave
expects to partner with cellular providers and other
market participants in co-marketing and revenue-sharing
relationships.
